π Ingredients:

2 cans evaporated milk (12 oz each)

2 cups whole milk (or 2%, if thatβs whatβs available)

5 egg yolks

Β½ cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Β½ tsp ground cinnamon

ΒΌ tsp ground nutmeg, plus more for topping

Whisk together egg yolks and sugar in a mixing bowl until light yellow and creamy.

In a saucepan, combine evaporated milk, whole milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Warm over medium heat until just steaming β do not boil.

Slowly pour about Β½ cup of the hot milk into the egg mixture while whisking constantly to temper the eggs.

Pour the tempered egg mixture back into the saucepan.

Cook over medium-low heat, stirring continuously, for 5β7 minutes or until slightly thickened and creamy.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Let cool, then chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
