The MDM Mobile Health Initiative brings essential hygiene products directly to underserved neighborhoods in Birmingham, Alabama and surrounding areas, alongside our Mobile Grocery Bus service. We believe that access to basic hygiene necessities is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
Through our Mobile Health Initiative, we provide preventive care, health education, and resources to communities facing barriers to traditional healthcare access.
Beyond Nutrition to Essential Hygiene Needs
In the heart of Birmingham’s underserved communities, many families face challenges that go beyond accessing healthy food. Essential hygiene products like toothbrushes, feminine hygiene items, and diapers are often out of reach, leading to serious health issues that could easily be prevented.
At Mercy Deliverance Ministries, we’re expanding our mission to ensure that every family not only has access to nutritious food but also to the hygiene products necessary for health, dignity, and wellbeing.
What We Provide
Our Mobile Health Initiative offers free hygiene products to community members during Mobile Grocery Bus visits, including:
- Dental hygiene supplies (toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss)
- Feminine hygiene products
- Diapers and baby wipes
- General hygiene necessities
Period Poverty
1 in 4 women struggle to afford period products, impacting education, work, and wellbeing. We’re ensuring menstrual dignity for all.
Period products aren’t covered by SNAP or WIC, but we’re filling the gap.
Dental Hygiene
In Birmingham’s food deserts, access to dental hygiene essentials is limited. We’re providing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental care items to families in need.
Good dental hygiene prevents serious health conditions and restores dignity.
